The Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund is calling on emerging artists, journalists, and content creators in Africa to apply for grants between $500 and $2000. The fund seeks to support individuals who can present a contemporary, authentic narrative of entrepreneurship in Africa through various media platforms.
The fund is named after Tony Elumelu, an African business leader and philanthropist whose legacy has inspired the next generation of African entrepreneurs. The fund is jointly sponsored by Heirs Insurance and Heirs Life Assurance.
The Tony Elumelu Storytellers Fund is open to media and arts based content creators. The projects should challenge global perspectives and present unique stories of entrepreneurship that challenge stereotypical narratives. The fund is particularly interested in stories that amplify unheard voices and introduce contemporary narratives.
Media category projects can include series of published articles that identify innovative tech entrepreneurs, video blogs that showcase entrepreneurs in underrepresented areas, or blogs that highlight new African innovation. Art category projects can include photography series of the top African entrepreneurs or light-hearted, comedic short films that tell the story of budding entrepreneurs.
