Entry Requirements for Ghana Armed Forces Recruitment
All applicants are required to carefully read through the entry requirements for clarification before applying. Take note of all the required data in the subsequent steps.
- Step 1: Purchase a scratch card from selected post offices nationwide for GH₵50.00
- Step 2: Gently scratch the card to reveal the PIN code, which can be used for three attempts at submission.
- Step 3: Log on to gafrecruitment.com using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
- Step 4: Review the entry requirements carefully.
- Step 5: Ensure your mobile phone’s Cell Broadcast Message Service is turned ON as per instructions.
- Step 6: Click on “Apply Now” and provide your card Serial Number, PIN code, and select your preferred Arm of Service and type of commission.
- Step 7: Fill in your personal details on Pages 1 to 3, including uploading a passport-sized photograph (170 x 150 pixels) and relevant documents.
- Step 8: Preview all the provided data, make any necessary modifications, and submit the application.
- Step 9: Expect an instant email and text message containing your unique system-generated Identification Number.
- Step 10: Print and keep a copy of the generated report. If lost, retrieve it using your unique identification number on the PRINT SUMMARY Tab.
- Important Note: Each scanned document (passport picture, WASSCE/SSCE results slip, and First Degree Certificate) should not exceed 1 Megabyte and must be in JPEG picture format only.

Eligible applicants should:
- Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth
- Not be less than 18 years and not more than 26 years by 06 June 2022 for Regular Commission and not more than the specified years by Thursday 02 May 2022, for the respective Short Service Commission applicants
- Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces standard
- Be not bonded
- Be not married (for Regular Officer Candidates only)
- Be of a minimum height of 1.68m (5’6’’) for males and 1.60m (5’ 4”) for females. For Military Police only; the minimum height for male applicants should be 1.75m (5’9”) and 1.70m (5’ 7”) for females
- Be of good character
- Must have one of the following:
BECE: Must have Six (6) Passes including English and Mathematics
WASSCE: Must have Six (6) Credits (Not less than C6) including Core English and Core Mathematics
Or SSSCE: Must have Six (6) Credits (Not less than D) including Core English and Mathematics
Or GCE ‘O’ Level: Must have Five (5) Credits (Not less than 6) including English and Mathematics Or GCE ‘A’ Level: Must have Credits in all Three (3) subjects (Not less than D) and
General Paper DEGREE: Must have First Degree (Not below) Second Class Lower from a recognized University

Eligible applicants should:
- Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth
- Be of good character
- Be medically fit by Ghana Armed Forces standard
- Be not bonded
- Be of a minimum height of 1.68m (5` 6“) for males and 1.57m (5` 2“) for females
- Be not more than 35 years by October 2022 for Specialist/Doctors and not more than 32 years for Nurses and Paramedical personnel
Entry Requirements for applying to be a Health Professional in the Ghana Armed Forces
- BECE Applicants Must have six (6) Passes at BECE including English and Mathematics
- WASSCE Applicants must have six (6) credits (minimum C6) including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science
- SSSCE Applicants must have (3) Six credits (not less than D) including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science
General Eligibility for Other Ranks in Ghana Army
Eligible applicants must:
- Be a Ghanaian citizen by birth
- Be of good character
- Be not less than 18 years of age and not more than 25 years for Non – Tradesmen and not more than 27 years for Tradesmen by 1 September 2022
- Be of a minimum height of 1.68m (5’6”) for males and 1.57m (5’2”) for females. For Military Police only; be of a minimum height of 1.75m (5’9”) for males and 1.70m (5’7”) for females
- Have six (6) Credits (not less than Grade 6) at BECE including English and Mathematics
- Have five credits (not less than Grade C6) in WASSCE, including Core English and Core Mathematics or the requisite credits/passes in respective trade qualifications from GES at Intermediate or Advance Level
- Be medically fit by Armed Forces standards
- Be not married
- Be not bonded
