SOGAL: Black women founders are making history as the most rapidly growing group of entrepreneurs. They possess a unique ability to address significant global challenges and are known for reinvesting in their communities and fostering intergenerational prosperity. Sadly, these entrepreneurs encounter substantial hurdles in accessing capital, a deeply unjust situation.
The ongoing systemic bias, the failure of Silicon Valley and venture capitalists to truly diversify their investments, the unequal impact of COVID-19 on entrepreneurs of color, and generations of inequity against Black individuals are entirely unacceptable.
SoGal Foundation has teamed up with Winky Lux, bluemercury, twelveNYC, Twilio, Walmart.org’s Center for Racial Equity and other sponsors to make a small step towards progress by providing several $10K and $5K cash grants to Black women or nonbinary entrepreneurs.
