The school has its roots in the Methodist Church’s decision to relocate its worker training from Cape Coast to Fouray Bay at Kemp buildings in Aburi, Eastern Region, Ghana, in 1918. Rev. S.J. Gibson played a crucial role in initiating the training of Ministers and teacher-catechists at the Kemp buildings, followed by Rev. C. W. Armstrong, who took over in 1921.
