What Happened?
The KNUST SRC Electoral Commission disqualified Miss Samuella Opoku Agyemang who was aspiring in the KNUST SRC General Secretary race. However, Samuella Opoku Agyemang was disqualified on the basis that she didn’t file her nomination on time and didn’t meet the stipulated requirements.

Samuella Petitions KNUST Court
The aspirant who was not in agreement with the EC’s decision filed a petition in court. Moreover, Her prayer was that the EC reviews their decision. “I call upon the EC to review their decision and provide a transparent explanation. Ensuring that every aspirant is given a fair chance to contribute to our student body” she said.
Tension In Court
Despite the defense from the Electoral Commission, Samuella and her legal team were able to prove beyond doubt. The problem is a mistake from the SRC and not her. She stated that “the Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. ”Exodus 14:14”
Court Gives Final Verdict on KNUST SRC Race
The Judicial Chairperson presiding over the case ruled that Miss Samuella Opoku Agyemang’s disqualification was unfair. Moreover, she should be reinstated. “Dear colleagues, I am humbled and grateful to share the news of our triumph in the court case against the Electoral Commission (EC). In addition, Your unwavering support and belief in our cause have played an instrumental role in this victory”
Samuella Is Back in KNUST SRC Race
Sammuella announcing her come back in the KNUST SRC race on twitter indicated that “Our collective efforts will pave the way for a campus that embraces inclusivity, opportunity, and growth. This is not just my victory; it is our victory. Let us stand strong, focused, and unyielding, knowing that together, we can achieve real change in our student community.”
