The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued an update regarding the issuance of appointment letters to prospective teachers who have submitted their recruitment applications but have yet to receive any correspondence. GES has issued a warning to aspiring teachers regarding unscrupulous individuals who are falsely claiming to be authorized GES agents and offering to secure employment in exchange for exorbitant fees. GES has unequivocally declared that these individuals are not legitimate representatives of GES and implores the general public to ignore their deceitful schemes.
Recently, GES announced a recruitment drive targeting qualified and accomplished teachers possessing a Diploma in Basic Education, for the 2023/2024 Service year. The key objective of this recruitment initiative is to leverage cutting-edge 21st-century technologies to enable students to learn effectively, promote continuous growth in learners’ research skills using new technologies, teach highly motivated learners, provide tailored instruction for students with diverse learning needs, and help them attain excellent academic results. Additionally, teachers must partake in relevant and ongoing professional development programs, employ a wide variety of evaluation tools and exercises to accurately assess students’ competencies, and assume any other duties as directed by their respective Head of Institution.
Qualified and passionate teachers who satisfy the following eligibility criteria are urged to apply via the official GES recruitment portal, gespromotions.gov.gh: completion of a Diploma in Basic Education Program with no outstanding exams or referrals, completion of mandatory National Service, successful completion of the National Teacher Licensure Examination, and a willingness to serve wherever they are needed. The recruitment application portal went live on February 10, 2023, and will close to the public on February 24, 2023.
