Introduction
Kumasi Girls SHS was started by Caxton Williams, a Sierra Leonean as a private secondary school for girls in the year 1953. The school was first situated at Susanso near Bomso junction on the Kumasi- Accra road. The proprietor moved the school to Old Tafo in the early 1960s which remained in rented location until 1992 when the school was moved to its current and permanent premise at Abrepo. In the year 1963, the government took over the administration of the school.

Kumasi Girls senior high school is located at Abrepo, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The school is adjacent to the Country Hospital.
