Introduction
The New Patriotic Party in the run up to 2024 has formed a 9 member vetting committee access about 10 big whips aspiring to be the party’s presidential candidate.
10 Aspirants Pick File Nomination
Ten flagbearer aspirants, including Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen. Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Essikado-Ketan MP Joe Ghartey, businessman Kwadwo Poku, and five others, have successfully obtained nomination forms. Regardless , a non-refundable fee of GH¢50,000 each. As part of the necessary prerequisites, they must also submit a filing fee of GH¢300,000.

9 Member Vetting Committee Inaugurated
A press statement signed and released by the General Secretary of the party, Mr Justin Frimpong Kodua the team will be headed by Former Speaker Of Parliament Mike Aaron Quaye. They will be vetting all aspirants based on their competence, achievements, loyalty to the elephant among other factors. Mike Aaron Quaye will be supported by Hon. Akwasi Amoako Atta, Mr Stephen Abankwa and Hon. Osei Bonsu Amoah. In addition, legal team leader of NPP Lawyer Frank Davies, Hon. Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Madam Rita Talata and Madam Adelaide Ahwireng.

Vetting Committee Objective
First of all, the NPP’s inauguration of a 9-member committee to vet Presidential Aspirants highlighting their dedication to the party. Furthermore, this initiative aims to ensure a rigorous selection process while upholding the party’s values. It has the potential to shape the future of the NPP and Ghana’s political landscape.
Conclusion
In accordance with Article 10 of the New Patriotic Party Constitution. A team comprising experienced politicians, legal practitioners, members of Parliament were assembled. The selection of the vetting committee members and its chairman took place during an emergency meeting convened by the National Council. This decisive action underscores the party’s commitment to transparency and ensures a fair and inclusive process for selecting presidential aspirants.
