The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has recently announced the start date and registration deadline for the 2023 WASSCE for Ghanaian school applicants.
WAEC, or the West African Examinations Council, is a regional examination board that conducts high school and secondary school examinations in English-speaking West African countries. The council was established in 1952 and currently operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia.
WAEC’s main objective is to conduct credible, valid, and reliable examinations that assess the knowledge and skills of students in the region. Its examinations are based on the national curricula of the countries it operates in and cover a range of subjects, including mathematics, science, social studies, and languages.
According to them, the exam will begin on Monday, July 31, 2023, with project work for candidates in the visual arts, while the theory papers will start on Monday, August 21, 2023, and run through September 26, 2023.
It is important for candidates to adequately prepare for the exams, as passing the WASSCE is crucial for admission to the university. The registration portal for the registration of eligible candidates was opened on Monday, 27th March, and the 2023 WASSCE registration deadline is Friday, 28th April, 2023. Candidates must ensure that their bio data is captured accurately and that they are registered for the correct subjects.
While the WAEC has not yet released the timetable for the 2023 WASSCE, students are encouraged to study hard and prepare diligently for their exams. With proper preparation and hard work, candidates can increase their chances of success in the WASSCE and achieve their academic goals.
