Presidential hopeful Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel (KOD) has made a substantial donation to the local branch of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) at the University of Mines and Technology (UMAT). The donation aims to improve campus safety by addressing poor illumination, which has been linked to criminal activities.
The donation, valued at thousands of cedis, includes street lights that were presented to NUGS President Nana Sarfo and UMAT’s Director of Communications, Rashid Kwaku Duah. This contribution is part of KOD’s broader initiatives to address students’ welfare concerns and strengthen NUGS’ presence on campuses.
The UMAT community has expressed gratitude for the donation, viewing it as a promising start to KOD’s commitment to student welfare as outlined during his campaign. Nana Sarfo Peter, speaking on behalf of UMAT’s NUGS, believes that KOD’s contribution will have a significant positive impact on the student community.
This donation exemplifies how individuals can make a difference in society and contribute to positive change. KOD emphasizes that this donation aligns with his plans to address various welfare issues across campuses, and he pledges to continue working towards these goals if given the opportunity.
